Fresher’s Party for 1st
year was held on 7.9.2013. It was conducted in ‘Shyamji Auditorium’ where over
600 students were seated. A memento was presented to all first year students as
a token of welcome. The anchoring committee gave number badges to all the
participants of Mr. & Ms. Fresher which made it convenient to manage the
crowd during the competition.

As the programme began, there were
three energetic dance performances by second year students – Vani & group,
Prachi & group, Sourabh & group and two melodies sung by the first
Mohit & group and Solo performance by Bhumika. To choose Mr. & Ms.
Fresher, three rounds were conducted. Appx. 50 students participated in the first
round which was Ramp-Walk and Intro. 21 students were shortlisted for the
second round which was ‘Talent Round’. Each participant was given 2 minutes to
showcase his/her talent. Finally for the third round, 3 participants qualified
and the Judges, Dr. Amit Dixit & Dr. Priyanka Rajvanshi asked the
questions. We also added Mr. & Ms. Spark of the evening for which 1 CR was
appointed from each section to give the names to Mrs. Shikha Sahni and the
judgment was based on the voting.

After
that first year students appreciated the efforts of their seniors by giving a
vote of thanks to 2nd year students and then 2nd year
students thanked all the faculty members for guiding them and making this
occasion so memorable.
At the end of the programme, all the students,
faculty members and staff were called for high tea which was organized at QUANTUM i.e TOP Engineering Colleges in Uttarakhand
